Kaifi revisited

As one of the great Urdu poets of the 20th century,Kaifi Azmi’s contribution to the language has been immense. IPTA pays a tribute to him on his 90th birth anniversary by staging the play,Kaifi Aur Main. Directed by Ramesh Talwar and written by Javed Akhtar,it is based on Azmi’s life and works. The poet’s actor daughter Shabana Azmi and Akhtar are part of the cast. Catch the play on January 14 at Bhaidas Hall,Vile Parle.

Russian author Anton Chekov will receive a Hindi treatment in the humourous play,An Evening with Chekhov: Zindagi ke Rang,to be staged on January 15.
