A controversy broke out over the two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) factions battling over putting up the name plates of their respective leaders outside the party's legislative office in the Nagpur state legislative building on Thursday. While a nameplate with Ajit Pawar’s name and their faction’s Chief Whip Anil Patil was initially put up at the party's legislative office, later, Sharad Pawar faction MLA Jitendra Awhad’s name was also put up at the party office overnight. On Thursday Ajit Pawar led NCP faction allegedly removed Awhad’s nameplate and put up the name plates of their faction's MLAs. Reacting to the development Awhad alleged that the Ajit Pawar group wishes to snatch everything from NCP founder Sharad Pawar. “ We considered the NCP office as a temple and Sharad Pawar was the god of that temple. I don't need a cabin. I am a street worker. I will also work on the street. But they started to remove the name of Sharad Pawar. Without thinking about how much pain and suffering this will cause him,” Awhad said. Meanwhile, state Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar said that there was only one NCP before him since he had not received any letters claiming that there were two NCP factions, so there was no question of having separate arrangements for the MLAs from the two factions.
