Sex racket busted,3 held

A prostitution racket allegedly operating as a massage parlour was busted in Ballard Estate,south Mumbai around 3 pm on Tuesday.

A prostitution racket allegedly operating as a massage parlour was busted in Ballard Estate,south Mumbai around 3 pm on Tuesday.

Police raided New Star Beauty Salon in Dock View building and rescued three women and arrested the salon manager,Habiba Shaikh along with two pimps,P

The owner,Ismail Batatwala was not present on Tuesday. They have been charged under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

Additional Commissioner of police,South Region,Krishna Prakash said,“Pannalal,20,from Rajasthan and Gulaldas,26,from West Bengal would stand outside the salon and lure customers. They offered a full body massage for Rs 2,000 and a half body massage for Rs 800.”

He said,“We sent a decoy customer to speak to the pimps. Once he confirmed our suspicions,we raided the place.

A room has been made with curtains in such a manner that it was impossible to see inside. However,we have proof that sexual activities were going on inside.”

Police are still in the process of identifying the women but Prakash said that none of them are underage.
