Seven attack doc after friend is declared dead by hospital

Seven Mumbra residents allegedly attacked a doctor and caused damage at Thane Civil Hospital after their friend was declared dead before admission Saturday. Police said the incident occurred around 11 pm. Hammad Sheikh (30),a vendor,was allegedly stabbed by a group of rivals over placement of a stall. “A friend claimed he felt Sheikh was breathing but the doctor was acting disinterested. The seven friends assaulted the doctor and damaged equipment,” said a police officer. All were subsequently arrested for rioting.

Meanwhile,one Adil Pathan has been arrested for the murder of Sheikh and police are looking for two others.
