Senior citizen robbed of gold chain

A 72-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants in Juhu on Friday.

A 72-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants in Juhu on Friday. The incident took place when victim,Moghiben Shah,was buying vegetables under the Captain Vinayak Gore bridge on Bajaj Cross Road.

An officer of the Juhu Police Station said the two accused came from behind on a motorcycle and snatched Shah’s chain while she was conversing with a vegetable vendor around 11 am.

“The person riding pillion snatched Shah’s 50 gram gold chain worth Rs 1.40 lakh following which the duo managed to escape from the area,” said an officer,who did not wish to be named.

Shah then approached police and registered a case against unknown persons. “Shah has given us the description of the accused. We are investigating the case and will nab them soon,” said the officer.
