There is good news for the residents of Nariman Point who missed grabbing their lunch or want a quick bite at The Oberoi hotel’s The Gourmet Shoppe. The patisserie,one of the hotel’s attractions for over 25 years,is back in business after renovation. Apart from a vibrant look and a new name — The Oberoi Patisserie and Delicatessen — it has on offer a wider selection of sweets and savouries than before. Apart from croissants,Danish pastries,chocolate doughnuts,quiches,salads and sandwiches,there are cold cuts and cheeses on offer. The pick of the lot are the macaroons,which come in flavours such as vanilla caramel,lime and wild berry.

Hikari: Contemporary Photography from Japan,an exhibition at ICIA House,Kala Ghoda,by Tasveer Arts,explores the notion of Hikari (Japanese for light) in contemporary photography by five Japanese artists. Yuji Obata looks at the history of photography and aesthetics and landscape of Japan. Tokihiro Sato manipulates light to include himself in his images,while Ken Kitano creates portraits by putting several images of people together and layering them onto a single sheet of photographic paper using light. The show will be held from September 20 to 29.
