School of action

The return of action movies has lent prominence to action and stunts. Taking this trend forward is Subhash Ghai,who has introduced a diploma course in stunt acting at his film school,Whistling Woods International. With this acting programme,the school in Mumbai aims at nurturing actors who can perform stunts,and stunts performers who can consider acting. The one-year diploma has three levels: freshman,sophomore and senior. Initially,students will be given basic knowledge about different disciplines involved in stunts. Skills to be taught include martial arts,car hits,bicycle stunts,weapons,rope and wire stunts. The subsequent levels get challenging,and ultimately,students will be asked to put together a show reel. The first batch starts on September 15.
