A 12-year-old boy who ran away from home after alleged ill-treatment by his father cooked up a kidnapping story when accosted by a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable at CST station in Mumbai. Upon questioning,he revealed that he ran away from home to avoid his father. He had fled from school instead of returning home, said an RPF officer.
An RPF constable noticed the boy,in his school uniform, roaming around on platform one at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and enquired about his whereabouts.
The boy told the constable that he had been kidnapped from Chiplun, brought to Mumbai in a red car, said a RPF official.
However,as the boy was unable to furnish more details, the suspicious cop took him to his seniors.
His family was later traced to Bhandup. The boys father told RPF officers that he would often bunk school and wanted to avoid frequent punishment.
