“I was intrigued to find out that two of India’s leading business houses had given huge donations to Harvard University and not to any Indian university

He said,“The society have given a lot to us. We all should think of returning it to the society some way or the other. Why can’t donations be made to Indian universities… so I suggested a delegation of IMC to come up with an initiative to create special research centres at universities in our state and the state government shall come up with a grant matching that initiative.” Chavan added,“Even the Central government gives support to various field of science. However, humanities, often end up not getting enough support and funding. Endeavours like this would surely make a huge difference and i am really happy about it.”

The primary objective of this chair is to encourage applied and empirical research of high standards and will cater to research needs of the banking and finance sector with a view to gain an insight and broad perspective in these areas.
