Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and submitted to him a list of demands including improved policing and increased remuneration to sugar cane farmers in the state. Thackeray also made a request to the CM to give him time to watch a presentation that he has made on improving tourism in the state.
“I spoke to him on four primary issues one of which was the urgent need to improve the morale of the police and how we could improve the conviction rate in the state. There is a urgent need to give support to policemen as many a times they get cases slapped against them inspite of them working hard cracking cases,” MNS Chief Raj Thackeray said after his half an hour long meet with the CM.
Thackeray also asked the CM to give him an appointment to view a presentation that he has made on improving tourism in the state.
Interestingly Thackeray has been one of the first leaders from the Opposition that have been given time by the CM. After an electoral drubbing Raj Thackeray has been trying hard to rejuvenate his party. Thackeray has already kicked off a fortnight long party outreach programme which will see him visit Kalyan Dombivali, Nashik, Aurangabad and Pimpri Chinchwad.
The MNS was expected to get electoral returns from these areas however all the candidates put up by the party suffered a loss. Thackeray will be taking a review of these constituencies and will also try to smoothen the ruffled feathers of many disgruntled party leaders and workers.
