Much like a number of the citys oldest communities, the bone setters of Mumbai practise their profession, almost forgotten by the rest of the world. Some were born and raised in Mumbai and took over the profession from preceding generations, while others travelled from cities as far-off as Lucknow to set up their practices here. Niyati Upadhya,a Rachana Sansad graduate, visited and photographed these men at work and these images are now on display in an exhibition titled Cult of the Street: Bone setters.
At False Ceiling Gallery,Ambedkar Road,Bandra West,till July 22,5 pm to 10 pm
