Broadway Blitz
On Sunday,the Blue Frog offers a slice of authentic opera from New York. Its broadway show will feature popular songs from musicals like The Sound of Music,The Phantom of the Opera,Chicago,Hello Dolly and Les Miserables complete with costumes,dramatic plots and intense musical cadence. The evening will host performances by artists like Delna Mody,Asif Ali Beg and Neuman Pinto as well as a band comprising Merlin DSouza,Cassy Fernandes and Kenneth DSouza.

Feast-o-Royale
Royalty appears to be the flavour of the month. La Rotande,The Imperial Palace,exemplifies it with its latest Sunday brunch. Set in a palatial ambience,the restaurant offers lip-smacking gourmet in Mexican,Lebanese,Thai,Chinese,Indian and Continental cuisines. The exotic culinary palette of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies includes dishes like Boulangere Potatoes,Rogan Josh and Arabian sea grill fish. The chefs special,Fusion,offers Penne in Chicken Makhani Sauce and while the brunch includes a number of soups and salads to go with the main course. The desserts like cherry baked yogurts,cheesecakes and chocolate mousse are perfect to finish the royal meal.

FOR those who want a dose of gentle laughter this weekend,but are unwilling to risk their time on something new,Indian Peoples Theatre Association has the answer. IPTA presents the evergreen comedy play Shatranj Ke Mohre,written by P L Deshpande and directed by Ramesh Talwar. The play is Indian theatres longest-running play and has just completed a successful run of 37 years. In this subtle satire Kakaji Bakshi is pitted against the villainous Acharya Ram Bhajan. The play reveals the values held by the two characters and how they resolve their struggles.
