Feminine wiles
Artist Jagannath Paul, known for his charcoals on paper and canvas, presents his solo show in Mumbai after a gap of four years. Paul brings out the drama of black and white by introducing solid blocks of paint which becomes the energy centre of the paintings called The Sixth Chakra also known as the third eye or Ajna in Sanskrit. His skillful rendering of the female form occupies predominant position in his paintings. In some of his works, complimentary or contrast forms are used in a subtle way,so as not to disturb the female quality of the artworks.

At the Museum Art Gallery; from December 2 to 6

Imagination rules
Quaff Theatre’s The Skeleton Woman is back at NCPA this weekend. The play, which is written and performed by Prashant Prakash and Kalki Koechlin,is about a young writer with a potent imagination.

He soon finds himself entangled in his own creations. With sharks in his living room,a goose that speaks, and a skeleton that’s driving him mad,he struggles to keep a grasp on what’s real and what’s in his head. With him through all of this is his wife, who is constantly trying to bring him back down to earth. Inspired by an Inuit folk tale and packed with playful humour,The Skeleton Woman is a play about love, loneliness and what one must endure to be happy.

At NCPA Experimental Theatre; Saturday 7 pm and Sunday 6:30 pm
