One killed,another injured in hit-and-run

A 22-year-old man was killed and another critically injured in an alleged hit-and-run case on Sion Circle flyover early Wednesday.

According to Sion police,some motorists spotted the duo lying unconscious on the flyover around 1 am. There was a Honda Activa some distance away. They rushed the duo to Sion Hospital,where Irshad Shaikh was declared dead before admission. The other,Anwar Sheikh (30) is being treated for multiple injuries.

“There are no eyewitnesses. There are no CCTV cameras on the flyover either. We do now know which vehicle hit them. We have registered a complaint of causing death due to rash and negligent driving,” said senior inspector B Z Gavit.
