The V P Road Police on Monday arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the murder of a labourer. Police said Lal Bihari Paswan has been accused of murdering Bablu Thappa because he allegedly refused Paswan money to purchase alcohol.
Thappa,believed to be aged between 30and 35,was found dead near Kabutarkhana on V P Road on Sunday. The police had registered a murder case against unknown persons as there were stab wounds on his body.
We had received information that Paswan and another person were responsible for the murder. We managed to nab Paswan from Mohammad Shaukat Ali Road on Monday at 3:15 pm. He has been remanded in police custody till May 29, said senior inspector Rajendra Chavan.
Chavan said the police have formed teams to nab the other accused. Police said the two accused allegedly asked Thappa for money to purchase alcohol and slashed his throat when he refused. The police have managed to recovered the murder weapon.
