The Western Railway (WR) has introduced mobile ticket van service at Vapi from Tuesday. This facility is being introduced under the Mushkil Aasaan scheme of the Ministry of Railways.
According to Sharat Chandrayan,WRs chief public relations officer,The service will start a new chapter in providing convenience to the passengers. They will be able to get tickets easily as the van will go to prominent places such as markets,tourist places and industrial hubs.
Passengers will neither have to travel long distances to get tickets nor stand in queues at the reservation offices.
The mobile van will operate from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm in Vapi and its nearby locations. The service will be available on all days except Sunday.
The locations have been decided according to the demand of local representatives and railway officials. The schedule has been made on a provisional basis for a month and will be reviewed after that,said an official.
