One Kailash Patel, who is the secretary of the Sai Charan Sanstha,is also named as an accused in this case.

A spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party said,“Azmi and our workers were in the area when the pilgrims were passing by. Like every year he went to give them good wishes. However, some workers were wearing our party T-shirts. However, they didn’t distribute any T-shirts or deliver speech.”

“This was just a misunderstanding. Our party, however, appreciates that the EC is taking strict action this time and is very vigilant,” he added.
