No Assembly ticket for MLAs who cross-voted in MLC polls: Nana Patole
“There will be no leniency towards the party members who violated orders and voted against party directives. Each and every one of them will face action,” said state Congress chief Nana Patole.

A day before the meeting of the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) to discuss seat sharing for the upcoming Assembly polls, the Congress on Tuesday announced that it will not be giving tickets to those who cross-voted in the recently held Maharashtra Legislative Council elections.
“There will be no leniency towards the party members who violated orders and voted against party directives. Each and every one of them will face action,” said state Congress chief Nana Patole.
The party’s senior leaders have already communicated that action will be taken, Patole said.
“Whether it is five or seven MLAs, each one who did not follow orders will face the consequences,” he added.
Congress general secretary K C Venugopal, during his visit to Mumbai last month, had mentioned that all MLAs who cross-voted have been identified and will soon face action.
However, no official announcement regarding the specifics were made.
When asked about the ongoing controversy over the reservation issue in the state, Patole said, “In 2014, Devendra Fadnavis promised reservations for the Maratha, Dhangar, and Adivasi communities. He boasted that if they came to power, they would resolve the reservation issue within 24 hours. However, even after ten years of the BJP government at the Centre and the same government in the state, the issue remains unresolved.”
Patole alleged that the BJP has misled the Maratha and OBC communities on the reservation issue, harming social harmony.
“The Congress party’s stance on reservations is clear: there should be a caste census, and the 50 per cent cap on reservations should be removed, as (Congress leader) Rahul Gandhi has publicly stated. This is the responsibility of the central government, and the BJP government at the Centre should make a decision on it. If the Congress comes to power in the state and the Centre, we will resolve the reservation issue,” he claimed.
