Neighbour rapes 11-year-old

Samta Nagar Police have arrested Noor Mohammad Mehmood for allegedly raping an 11-year-old neighbour at around 12.30 pm on Thursday.

Samta Nagar Police have arrested Noor Mohammad Mehmood (40) for allegedly raping an 11-year-old neighbour at around 12.30 pm on Thursday.

Police said the minors daily wage worker parents had gone out and Noors family too was not at home when the incident occurred. Noor allegedly lured her to his house with eatables and raped her.

The girl informed her parents about the incident when they returned from work and a police complaint was lodged.

Fearing arrest,Noor fled the city. His wife told police he had left for Kurla Railway Station.

Noor was arrested from Kurla Railway Station as he was about to board a train. He has been booked for rape and was produced before a court which sent him to police custody, said senior inspector Nanasaheb Kamble said.
