Rs 1.54 crore pending from developers
MHADA is waiting for 16 private developers to pay Rs 1.54 crore as rent for the use of transit camps while redeveloping housing projects. Efforts are on to recover the money,Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said in the Assembly Tuesday.
Redevelopment plan for BDD chawls
The government is considering a proposal to redevelop the BDD chawls in Mumbai,Chavan said in reply to a question.
Officials probed for sponsored tour
51 MHADA and four housing department officials joined a South India tour organised by builders in 2008,a government inquiry has revealed. Chavan said notices were sent to the officials,who toured Madurai,Trivandrum,Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari,and their replies are being examined. The urban development department and the BMC too have been asked to probe if any of their officials had joined the tour. Chavan said action would be taken against any officials found guilty.
