Mumbai confidential: Showdown With CM

A senior Sena leader and former minister, who along with his MLA son aligned with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, had a showdown with Shinde at the CM’s official residence Varsha.

The leader alleged that none of the works recommended by him have been cleared even as Shinde tried to calm him down. The leader even warned another minister to not interfere in the matter. Shinde is said to have received complaints about the leader from workers who are threatening to quit the party due to the arrogance of the father-son duo.

Medal Pride

In an honour for the state, on the eve of Independence Day this year, five medals for meritorious service were announced to the jawans of Homeguards and Civil Defence of Maharashtra. It was a matter of pride for its chief BK Upadhyay since Maharashtra has bagged the highest number of medals this time as compared with other states. This, despite the fact that traditionally the unit is generally given more priority in some other states as compared with Maharashtra.
