ATS arrests Kerala youth over threat mail to Mumbai airport authorities

The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad Friday arrested a 23-year-old Kerala-based man for allegedly sending an email to the airport authorities demanding money and subsequently threatening to blow up the Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
According to the police, the airport authorities received an email at 11.06 am on Thursday from the accused.
The email read, “This is final warning to your airport. We will blast the terminal-2 within 48 hrs unless 1 millions dollars in the bitcoin.”
The authorities then lodged a complaint with the Sahar police station after which a case was registered. The ATS started probing the matter parallelly.
“Through technical analysis, we managed to identify and trace the suspect after which a team was sent to his home town in Kerala,” said an officer.
The accused identified as Febin Shah was apprehended and after he confessed to the crime, he was brought to Mumbai.
The ATS later handed him over to Sahar police station for further investigation.
