Barring one minister and a handful of bureaucrats,the annual function organised at Mantralaya to pledge solidarity in the fight against terrorism was a dry affair.
May 21 is observed as anti-terrorism day on the occasion of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhis death anniversary and a ceremony is held every year where ministers and government officials take a pledge against terrorism and to make efforts to bring in unity.
The function was attended by only one minister,Minister for Revenue and Relief and Rehabilitation Narayan Rane,and a handful of government secretaries. Home Minister RR Patil was present in Mantralaya later in the day while Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had been in Delhi.
Chief Secretary JP Dange,Ajitkumar Jain,secretary to the CM,Industries principal secretary AM Khan and GAD principal secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey were among the officials who attended the function.
