As Mumbai University declared the LLM semester II results on May 27, students have raised various complaints including being marked absent despite appearing for the exam, erroneous assessment and names missing from the result-sheet.

Apart from some students being marked absent erroneously some students have also claimed that the assessment is faulty which has led to many failing the exam. One student, who has failed in three out of four subjects, said, “And the only subject where I have passed, I have scored second highest in the merit list. There has to be an error.”

A student who is marked absent, said, “I was marked absent when I appeared for the exam.”
Students said their complaint of faulty assessment will not be taken into consideration forcing them to apply for re-evaluation. “But we are hoping that the Semester 3 exam is not announced before the re-evaluation result as many of us then will be ineligible for it,” said a student.

Aggrieved students approached Sachin Pawar from Student Law Council, a student activist who has written to Governor Ramesh Bais. Bais, in his capacity as Chancellor to all state universities, had recently reprimanded universities over delays in results.

“We have demanded that Semester 3 exam is postponed so that students don’t miss the exam due to varsity’s error,” said Pawar.

Mumbai University’s exam section official said, “Due to errors by colleges, some students were marked absent. Results will be announced soon.”
