A 46-year-old man was found dead with stab wounds on his body at the Shivshakti Nagar slums in Chembur on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Shelvaraj Govandar.
Officers investigating the case said Govandar was killed following a monetary dispute. From the statement of Govandars son,we have learnt that he had an argument with four persons including a former Congress corporator.
The boy has accused the quartet of killing his father. We have registered a case of murder against the four under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, said senior police inspector Dilip Yadav of the RCF Police Station.
We are yet to recover the murder weapon,and are trying to corroborate the complainants accusations and are searching for witnesses in the case, Yadav said.
He revealed that four persons were called for probe ,but were not arrested due to lack of evidence Investigations are on, he added.
