(Express Photos by Gurmeet Singh/Representational)The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations on Monday declared the results of the Indian Certificate of School Education (ICSE-Class 10) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC-Class 12) examinations. With a passing percentage of 99.96, ICSE students have performed slightly better than ISC students, who have recorded a passing percentage of 99.71 per cent, in Maharashtra.
Students from 265 ICSE and 70 ISC schools appeared for the board exams in the state. There were 28,588 candidates for the ICSE exams, out of which 15,425 were boys and 13,163 girls. For the ISC exam, 3,840 students–1,743 boys and 2,097 girls–appeared.
In both the exams, girls have outdone boys. There are 11 unsuccessful candidates each in both the exams.
The ICSE exam was held from February 21 to March 28 in 60 written subjects. Twenty of the subjects are related to Indian languages, 13 to foreign languages and one to a classical language.
The ISC exam was held from February 12 to April 4 in 47 written subjects. Twelve of the subjects are related to Indian languages and four to foreign languages and two to classical languages.
Two ISC papers, chemistry and psychology, were rescheduled after a potential leak of question papers was alleged.
