Maharashtra Assembly’s Monsoon Session to be held from June 27

During the session, the ruling Mahayuti alliance will present a budget of the state in both houses of the legislature on June 28, an official said.

The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) during its meeting on Friday decided that the Monsoon session of the Maharashtra legislature will be held in Mumbai from June 27 to July 13, 2024.

During the session, the ruling Mahayuti alliance will present a budget of the state in both houses of the legislature on June 28, an official said.

The interim budget was tabled in February due to the Lok Sabha elections.

The decision was taken during the BAC meeting that was held by speaker of state legislative assembly Rahul Narwekar for assembly and the Deputy speaker of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe for council.

“Monsoon Session will be held from June 27 to Friday, July 12, 2024, and the work will continue for thirteen days. It was decided in this meeting that the work of the Legislature will continue on Saturday 29 June 2024 as well despite it being a public holiday,”a state legislature official said.

Assembly deputy speaker Narahari Ziraval, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, Assembly Opposition Leader Vijay Wadettiwar (through video communication system) along with members of Working Advisory Committee, Legislative Secretary Jitendra Bhole and other dignitaries were present.

Meanwhile, the absence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other NCP ministers in the meeting had become a talking point in the Vidhan Sabha premises on Friday. The NCP however had clarified that DY CM Pawar as well as the other ministers are on a tour in their respective districts.
