Kurla, Chandivali Powai among several areas in Mumbai facing 24-hour water cut

Several areas of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) L ward, which includes Kurla, Chandivali, and Powai in central Mumbai, is experiencing a 24-hour water cut starting Monday. Civic officials said this water cut is necessary due to an electrical breakdown at the Powai substation.

“At present, the reservoir has been emptied and repair work has been taken up. Once the repair is completed, the reservoir will be filled and supply will be started in a phased manner,” said a civic official.

The civic authorities announced that most areas will have no water supply, while some areas will receive water at low pressure. They have urged residents to use water sparingly.
