Boys under-11 top seed Neil Joshi of Maharashtra and under-13 fourth seed Utkarsh Baheti of Rajasthan stormed into the semi-finals of the Western India Open Squash Tournament at the Cricket Club of India on Wednesday.
Joshi,who is the sub junior national champion,lived up to his reputation with an impressive straight sets win over state-mate Aakash Gupta,while Baheti halted R. Kishore Anand of Tamil Nadu with a 11-5,11-5,11-5 win.
Also advancing to the semi-finals was Sandeep Paswan of Jindal who ended the winning streak of Delhis Pranav Bassi with a straight sets victory in the boys under-17
category.
National champion and top seed Veer Chotrani of Maharashtra advanced to the boys under-13 quarter-finals along with state mates,second seed Tushar Shahani and Shlok Makhija and Armaan Chowfin of Goa.
