Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar Kabootar Khana have assumed a fortress-like appearance over the last couple of days after the Mumbai Police took into account the fact that a majority of terror strikes in the city, as well as elsewhere in the country, have occurred in the month of July in the past.

“The measures are precautions against any possible terror strike. We have designated fixed bandobast points that have been targeted by terrorists earlier and have also stepped up security and patrolling at other important spots,” said DCP Dhananjay Kulkarni.
A senior officer added that the measures were also put into place considering the fact that Independence Day was a little more than a month away.
