Plea in court to stop release of Rajneeti
A self-proclaimed social worker Naseem Khan has sought Bombay High Court’s injunction to stop the release of film Rajneeti. According to Khan, the movie defames Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and her family.

Khan has sought to restrain the producer and director of the film,Prakash Jha,and the Censor Board from releasing the film. “When the movie is supposed to be based on Sonia Gandhi’s life, the director should have been overly careful and not maligned her character by showing intimate scenes in the film,” said Khan.

The central government in its reply to the court has said that the film is yet to be cleared by the Censor Board. The case has been adjourned to June 10.

Probe into fake identity cards of enumerators
Mayor Shraddha Jadhav on Monday ordered an inquiry into the discrepancies in the identity cards of enumerators. She pointed to an identity card of an enumerator bearing the name of a female and the photograph of a male. “The discrepancies could be a larger scandal by those enumerators who want to avoid census duty and are paying others to do the job,” said Shraddha Jadhav.

“The BMC administration should look into the matter and strict action will be taken against those who are found guilty,” she added. There are 18,500 enumerators and 3,087 supervisors from the BMC and other government and semi-government agencies who have been appointed to carry out the Census.
