IIT-B students help aspirants make the right choice

With close to 9,590 seats in 15 IITs,making the right choice of branches has become difficult for those who have cleared the tough Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

With close to 9,590 seats in 15 IITs,making the right choice of branches has become difficult for those who have cleared the tough Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Keeping this in view,a group of IIT Bombay students has decided to lend a helping hand.

The group has launched a website and prepared an online ready reckoner to help them make an informed choice free of cost.

The results were declared a week ago and many of those who made it past the JEE said they were finding it difficult to select the branches at the IITs and compare academic and cultural infrastructure .

Ashutosh Kumar,a metallurgical engineering and material science student at IIT,Bombay,says http://www.excelmentors.com is an initiative of a group of IIT Bombay students and working professionals from NMiMS to help candidates make the right choice.

“Through our first product ‘Branch Estimator’ students who clear JEE can analyse the best branches they can get in different IITs.”
