An employee of a builder suffered injuries in a firing incident that occurred around 1.30 pm on Wednesday. The D N Nagar police said he was out of danger after being subjected to medical treatment.

Police said two unidentified men entered into the office of a builder at Sagar City,Juhu Galli,in Andheri and fired one round from their firearm. One of the employees,Sumit Sonawane (24),suffered injuries as the bullet brushed his hand. The builder,Tajjudin Meridia,was not present in the office when the incident took place.

According to the D N Nagar police,the duo sought permission to enter the office premises around 1.30pm. Upon entering,one of them fired at Sumit. The bullet brushed his hand. The duo then walked out of the office, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (DN Nagar division) Dilip Suryavanshi.

The other employees immediately informed the police about the incident. Sumit was rushed to Cooper Hospital but was discharged after primary medication. Police said the Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) installed on the office premises were not functioning at the time of the incident. We are now trying to contact the builder to carry out further investigations, said Suryavanshi. Police are also investigating the motive behind the attack. All the angles such as personal enmity,dispute due to property and extortion is being verified, said Suryavanshi.

While there were rumours that Ravi Poojari men might be involved behind the attack,Suryavanshi refused to comment stating that the investigations are on. We will record the statements of the employees to ascertain the exact the sequence of events, he said.
