Missing sweeper suspect,had altercation with victim
Manager of a guest house in Dongri was found dead on Saturday evening and the police are searching for the sweeper, Suleiman,missing after the incident.
Police said the manager,Mohammad Abdul Qadir,54,was attacked with a chopper in the neck. At 4 pm,Qadir was found lying in a pool of blood and rushed to hospital. He was declared dead on arrival, said DCP (Zone 1) Ravindra Shisve.
The owner of the establishment is from Kerala and had gone for holidays. We suspect involvement of the sweeper, said Shisve.
Police have yet to learn about circumstances that led to the murder. However,sources said the manager and Suleiman had an argument a few days ago and had shouted at each other. We will trace Suleiman and question him to know what actually transpired, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dongri Division) Sanjay Diwadkar. A case under Section 302 (murder) has been registered at Dongri police station.
We are speaking to other persons in the vicinity, said Shisve.”
