The railway police’s drive against Siddhivinayak pilgrims who harass commuters on local trains on their way home every Tuesday morning seems to have paid off. The Government Railway Police (GRP) had carried out stringent checks on locals on August 20 and August 27 and nabbed 87 people, including minors. On September 10,no such offence was reported.

Rajendra Trivedi, senior inspector,GRP Mumbai Central said,“We will continue the drive till this menace comes to an end. After repeated drives,no person was caught today.” Most offenders were found passing lewd remarks and fighting with co-passengers,he said.
