Golden Celebration

The state celebrated 50 years of its existence on its foundation day May 1. Different regions celebrated the occasion in their own style. A light and sound show,followed by fireworks,was the highlight at Marine Drive. Major landmarks of Mumbai like Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus were lit up. Political leaders and citizens paid tribute to those who had taken part in the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement five decades ago.
