Four robbed by co-passenger on Pawan Express

Four passengers on Pawan Express were robbed by a co-passenger after he spiked their drink.

Four passengers on Pawan Express were robbed by a co-passenger after he spiked their drink. According to Devendra Mishra,one of the victims,he boarded the train at LTT on December 30. “There were only four passengers,including me,in my cabin. There was a young person in the nearby cabin who brought a cold drink,which he drank himself and gave to us. We don’t know what happened to us after the train left Khandwa. We later found ourselves at a government hospital in Jabalpur. The youth also boarded the train at LTT,” said Mishra.

“An FIR has been lodged with GRP,Khandwa,under section 328/379 of Indian Penal Code,” said Anil Tamaichekar,Deputy Commissioner GRP,WR. He is now handling the additional charge of CR. The youth is yet to be caught.

According to Railway Police,Kalyan station,“Most of these incidents take place in Madhya Pradesh.”

Similar cases have occurred on trains in the past. On April 2,2009,seven passengers of Punjab Mail were robbed of cash and ornaments after they were given spiked drinks or food. On February 5,Saransh Bharadwaj of Chhote Miyan Laughter show fame found his father unconscious at Kalyan station while on a train from Gwalior to Mumbai.
