Former Maharashtra CM Manohar Joshi’s condition continues to be serious
Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi Thackeray visited the hospital to enquire about the health of Joshi, said a party source.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Manohar Joshi’s condition continued to be serious, said sources Tuesday. They added that a tumour has caused bleeding in his brain. The veteran politician was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital Monday after he lost consciousness.
The 85-year-old former CM is in the ICU but breathing on his own, without the need for artificial breathing support.
A statement released by the hospital states, “Mr Manohar Joshi… admitted at P D Hinduja Hospital, on May 22nd, in an emergency in semicoma, breathing on his own, not on ventilator. He has complications from a brain tumour. He is currently in the ICU, being managed medically. He is stable, but continues to need critical management.”
He is required to undergo a series of tests to decide on the next line of treatment. It is not known if the tumour is benign or malignant. “Although he is stable and didn’t need to be incubated, he is serious and unconscious,” informed a source.
Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi Thackeray visited the hospital to enquire about the health of Joshi, said a party source.
Joshi served as the chief minister of Maharashtra from 1995-1999 during the Shiv Sena-BJP government and was also Lok Sabha Speaker from 2002-2004.
