In the letter written by dismissed cop Sachin Waze to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he had claimed that during his stint in the Mumbai police from 2020-2021, he was forced to do illegal acts at the behest of two ministers in the MVA government. Waze informed a special court in Mumbai on Monday about the letter, which he said he had sent to Fadnavis on July 30.

In the four-page letter written in Marathi, Waze has claimed that he was under pressure to carry out illegal activities when he was heading the Crime Intelligence Unit.

Waze has also named a minister from the MVA government claiming that after he had carried out a major operation against someone involved in providing illegal hookahs, he received a call from an official of the minister, asking to let the person go. The official, Waze claimed, asked him to arrest someone else instead.

Waze is in jail for his alleged role in the Antilia terror scare under the anti-terror law, and the murder of a Thane-resident, Mansukh Hiran.
