Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be used to strengthen the security at the Mantralaya and that a system is being developed for the same purpose. “A system using artifical intelligence can be used at the entry and exit gates of Mantralaya," Fadnavis told officials in the review meeting of Mantralaya's security on Thursday. "More than reducing the crowd, we are focused on enhancing the security in the Mantralaya. Every person entering should be identified," said Fadnavis while speaking to reporters after the meeting. He said a system is being developed where a person can register online, which will generate a pass to enter. "The pass will have to be returned while exiting. This will help understand which person is going where and for how much time. It is being alleged that brokers roam in Mantralaya. This system will help identify them all,” he added. He said that 70 per cent of the complaints coming to Mantralaya can be solved at the district- level itself. "A robust grievance redressal system is being planned to sort out district-level complaints at the source itself. It will stop people from coming to the Mantralaya unnecessarily," said Fadnavis. He also directed officials to remove the net at the centre of Mantralaya – that was installed to stop suicide attempts by aggrieved individuals coming to the Mantralaya. He issued the direction after safety nets were installed at every floor of the building.
