A case of rape has been registered against a former Colaba corporator after a 38-year-old married woman approached the police on Tuesday.
The Colaba police said even though the alleged rape happened in 2007, the case was registered only on Tuesday.
We are careful with the case as the incident took place four years ago. All the facts have to be ascertained to investigate the case, said an officer.
The complainant has also named another woman in the FIR,for abetting the crime, the police said.
Meanwhile, police sources said the woman had registered a non-cognizable case against the accused in 2007. She had accused him of using foul language and teasing her. We had registered an non-cognizable case then, the officer said.
We are investigating the case from all possible angles, said the officer.
