Mumbai Customs signed off in grand fashion as they romped to a comfortable 3-1 victory against Kenkre FC in an Elite Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league,played at the Poinsur Gymkhana ground,Kandivali on Tuesday.
Customs from the start made their intentions clear of playing for a win. The midfielders combined well with the forwards upfront to put pressure on the Kenkre defence and they found success through the efforts of right linkman Mathias Coutinho in the 41st minute.
Taking control over the proceedings,Customs doubled the lead immediately after the change of ends when Francisco Salian found the back of the net in the 47th minute before Nelson Cardoz fired home the third nine minutes later.
Fighting a losing battle,Kenkre managed to score a consolation goal through Taha kachwalla in the 89th minute.
The win was the fifth for Customs,who have now completed their league fixtures with 19 points and occupy the pole position. For Kenkre this was their second defeat in six matches and they stay on 13 points.
Earlier,Indian Navy sunk Western Railway as they cruised to a fluent 2-0 victory in another Elite encounter. Raman Rai and Pawndeep Singh were on target for the sailors.

At Poisur Gymkhana ground,Kandivali Elite Div: Indian Navy 2 (Raman Rai 41st,Pawandeep Singh 50th) beat Western Railway 0. Mumbai Customs 3 (Mathais Coutinho 41st,Francisco Sallian 47th,Nelson Cardoz 56th) beat Kenkre FC 1 (Taha Kachawalla 89th).
