A police sub inspector who had conducted the panchnama of the blast site at Mazgaon deposed in the special court on Wednesday. Witness Jagdish Rane told the court that he had collected the remains of the taxi and found two bodies at the site. He also said that the explosion had such a high intensity that it damaged the nearby shanties as well.
Rane,who is attached to Byculla police station,seized the articles from the spot and identified them in the court on Wednesday. He also recorded the statements of Mohammed Kirmat Shaikh whose wife,Rima and mother-in-law Zarina had died in the blast.
According to the prosecution,two of the deceased Pakistani gunmen had planted a bomb in the taxi before they got off at Café Leopold at Colaba Causeway.
