A 42-year-old man,owner of a coaching centre in Andheri (east),allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Andheri on Monday evening,said Andheri police on Tuesday. According to the police,though the deceased,Vijay Wadke,had left a suicide note saying that no one should be held responsible for my (his) death,he did not mention why he had taken the ultimate step.
Police Sub Inspector Raghunath Patil of the Andheri police station said,Vijay Wadke (42) runs Wadke Coaching Classes in Andheri (east) where students of standard VIII to HSC are coached. Wadke also takes classes for the students. On Monday evening,he informed his colleague Mangesh Jadhav that he (Wadke) would come late in the evening for taking classes as he had some work at home,and asked Jadhav to take classes.
According to police,Jadhav agreed and after the coaching session,waited for Wadke whose house is right above the coaching centre.
However,when he did not turned up even after a long time,Jadhav tried to call up Wadke. As he didnt pick up the calls,Jadhav went to the neighbours and borrowed a spare key that they had with them. He opened the door and found Wadke hanging from a ceiling fan, said Patil.
Wadkes wife and son were not at home when the incident occurred. According to the police,they had gone to Girgaum to visit her parents and came back after they were informed about the suicide. We will question his family members and other faculty members of the coaching centre to find out what could be the reason behind his suicide, said Patil.
