Railways,cops gear up for New Year

Mumbai: The Government Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) are stepping up security at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and other major stations like Dadar,Kurla and Bandra following terror threats.

“A meeting was held on Wednesday to review the security arrangements on the New Year’s eve. We would be deploying more staff at the stations on Friday,” said Tukaram Chavan,Commissioner,Mumbai Railway Police. He added that the personnel would be armed.
