According to the chargesheet, the BMC’s A ward, which undertook the beautification of the bridge under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in 2016, has told the Mumbai Police that it had written to the bridges department to carry out a structural stability assessment of the FOB before work could begin.
According to police, the accused was arrested from her house in Nashik on April 14. “The woman had the child she had abducted from CSMT. We have rescued the child and returned him to his parents,” said a senior Crime Branch officer.
The boy, identified as Zubair Siddiqui, a student of Class X at Anjuman-e-Islam School, was returning to his house in Wadala from CSMT after writing his last examination on Thursday when the incident happened, police said.
