Kasab reappears on High Court video

A day after skipping court proceedings,26/11 convict Ajmal Kasab appeared briefly for Thursdays videoconference. He had spat on the video camera Wednesday and the High Court had ordered he should be brought only if he wanted to. Lawyer Farhana Shah,who met Kasab,said,He kept on repeating he wanted to be present in court and was sick of solitary confinement.

Twins for Manyata and Sanjay Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt and his wife Manyata Dutt Thursday became the parents of twins,a boy and a girl. They were born at Breach Candy Hospital Thursday afternoon. Dutt was present,an aide of the actor said.

2006 serial train blasts: Witness turns hostille

A prosecution witness to the 2006 train blasts was declared hostile by the special MCOCA court Thursday. The witness denied being present when the ATS seized chemicals and conducted searches realted to the blast. The witness has been declared a hostile witness, special public prosecutor Raja Thakare said. According to defence lawyer Abdul Wahab Khan,the witness told the court that before her deposition the ATS sleuths tutored her on what to say. The blasts had taken place on July 11,2006.
