Gorakhpur man held,pistols seized
A man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested in Malad and two pistols and cartridges were seized from him,police said. When his construction site contract business with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd failed,he took to illegal but quicker methods of earning money,according to Deputy Commissioner of Police,Nisar Tamboli. Acting on a tip-off,a Unit-2 team of Mumbai Police Crime Branch,led by senior police inspector Feroz Patel,arrested him.

Break-in gang busted
A five-member gang,which burgled houses in broad daylight in the western suburbs,was busted in Kalbadevi the Crime Branch. The kingpin Nilesh Chaugule used to visit residential colonies carrying a satchel containing tools used for the break-ins,Unit 2 sources said. On finding a house locked,he would call his accomplices and burgle it.
