Probe revealed that Umesh left home on November 7 as he wanted to take a passenger to Beed district.A CISF personnel allegedly ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon near Jio garden in Bandra Kurla Complex on Saturday.
The police said they have not recovered any suicide note from the personnel and do not suspect any foul play. According to police officials, the incident took place at around 9.15am, when the personnel, identified as Mukesh Ketaria, was posted at gate number 5 of Jio garden.
“He hails from Gujarat and his family is based there. He got transferred to Mumbai over a year ago and since then he is staying and working here,” a police officer said.
Officials revealed that the personnel was alone in the security guard’s cabin at Jio garden when he allegedly shot himself using his service weapon.
“He shot himself in the neck,” said an officer adding, “Soon after hearing the noise, others rushed to the cabin. He was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.”
The BKC police said they have registered an accidental death report.
“We do not suspect any foul play into it. We believe that he has ended his life due to some issues in his family. We are investigating,” said an investigator.
