The CBI has prepared a questionnaire for National Commission for Scheduled Castes chairman Buta Singh in connection with the bribery scandal involving his son Sarabjot.
It has asked him to be present on August 24 at the agency headquarters, where the investigating officer from Mumbais CBI Anti-Corruption Bureau looking into the allegations against Sarabjot will be present, agency officials said in Mumbai.
The questionnaire includes a query on how Sarabjot had come to know that Nashik conservancy contractor Ramrao Patils case was with the Commission, the officials added. Patil had accused Sarabjot of demanding a bribe to settle the case against him. We will ask him how the calls were made, specifically to those who had approached the Commission,as Sarabjot is not a Commission official, said a CBI official.
CBI officials said Sarabjot used various SIM cards to make calls on transactions to fix cases lodged at the Commission under the SC/ST ( Prevention of Atrocities) Act. In Patils case, calls were made allegedly using SIM cards belonging to his father-in-law and a north India-based truck driver,Zia Khan.
CBI is also planning to question Honey Singh,a relative who allegedly helped the family raise money for elections. The agency will also collect details of two new complaints alleging that Sarabjot had asked for bribes to settle cases with the Commission.
